Custom Phone Skins
Common Facts About All Phone Skins
All
phone skins are attached to the cell phone using a light film of
removable adhesive. This adhesive allows for repositioning of the skin
if necessary.
For Clear or invisible skins:
A clear adhesive is sprayed on
to the skin. After applying the skin to the cell phone, a squeegee is
used to force the excess adhesive and any air pockets from the surface.
Once cured the adhesive is permanent; however the skin can be removed
easily at any time. The removal of the skin will stretch the skin out
of shape making it unusable a second time. The adhesive does not leave
any residue on the phone and a new skin may be applied immediately.
For textured and opaque skins:
The
skins have a sticky or glue backing. The skin must be applied
to the
cell phone carefully to avoid air pockets. If necessary the skin can be
repositioned. The skin can be removed easily at any time. If removed
carefully (to avoid stretching the skin out of shape), many thicker
textured skins can be used a second time. The adhesive does not leave
any residue on the phone and a new skin may be applied immediately
Phone Skins are designed to and limited to protecting the surface of
the cell phone from scratches. They do not protect the cell phone from
dents or internal damage due to major accidents. Phone skins do not aid in water proofing or
dust proofing of the cell phone.
Most phone skin makers allow the customer to design or personalize
their individual phone skin. This involves uploading your own jpeg
image to the skin maker’s computer. To further personalize
the
skin, a customer may add their name or initials to an existing design
or invisible skin.
Many phone skin manufacturers offer matching wallpaper. These images
downloaded from the internet or skin makers website, match the image on
the skin making the screen appear to disappear on the cell phone.
NOTE:
Each phone skin is
tailor made for a specific make and model cell phone. These close
tolerances make it imperative that you order the proper phone skin for
your cell phone.
NOTE:
Not all phone skins
cover the entire cell phone surface. Be sure to read and understand all
detail descriptions of the skin you select.
NOTE:
When ordering your
phone skin, check to see if a screen protector is included with the
order. It may be necessary to purchase the screen protector separately. |

Invisible Phone Skins
Invisible Phone Skins are just that…invisible. These are the
most unnoticeable skins of all. A very thin clear vinyl film is applied
to all sides (most skins) of the cell phone. The cell phone retains its
original
look and feel but has an added scratch resistant protective cover. Some
Invisible Phone Skins can be personalized with name or initials.
Pros:
The cell phone retains its look and feel. Cell phone is protected
against accidental scratches.
Cons:
The cell phone is not protected against minor abuse.
Textured Phone Skins
Similar to Invisible Phone Skins, Textured Phone Skins have a textured
feel to them. Some available textures include:
- Matte
- Leather, alligator
- Cloth
- Carbon fiber & metallic
- Sports skins (e.g. football, baseball)
- Other unique textures.
Most of these phone skins are opaque and made with standard designs
appropriate for the texture e.g. alligator. Many Textured Phone Skins
can be personalized with name or initials.
Pros:
Cell phone is protected against accidental scratches. Added grip.
Cons:
The cell phone is not protected against minor abuse.

Gel Phone Skins
Gel Phone Skins are considerable thicker than the other phone skins.
Standard skins are between 3 and 10 mils thick while gels skins are
approximately 35 mils in thickness. This additional thickness/padding
increases the skins durability and helps protect the cell phone against
minor abuse.
This “thickness” gives the graphics a unique 3-D
look and the cell phone a “padded” feel.
Pros:
The additional thickness of the skins adds additional protection
against minor abuse. Added grip.
Cons: Due
to the addition
bulk of the Gel Skin, the cell phone may not fit in to a standard cell
phone carrying case designed for that make and model cell phone.
